The Susan Carlins "Make It Happen" Initiative, funded by Joel Carlins in honor of the couple's 32nd wedding anniversary, supports creative artistic projects which simultaneously honor Giordano Dance Chicago's broad legacy and which enhance the organization's reputation for expanding the art form of American Jazz Dance. Specifically, the initiative boosts innovative artistic programs or artistic activities that otherwise might not occur. The first such project is the restaging and remounting of "Giordano Moves" in our 55th Anniversary Season, a work for 15 dancers that is a celebration of the creative output of Gus Giordano. The fund captures Susan Carlins' fearless, catalytic drive and her unstoppable ability to "make it happen."
