Mark Brown is a professional lifestyle photographerwho generously puts his heart and humor into every project. Dancing With The Giordano Stars 2017 combines his love of philanthropy and helping children, with a new self-imposed physical challenge.

He is thrilled that the money raised will help to bring over 300 classes of dance, music, science and movement to the underserved children of Chicago. As a child, Mark would often give up when playing sports or dancing didn’t come easily to him. This event is an incredible opportunity for him to step out of his comfort zone and prove that he can be an athlete after all, at age 51! Mark plans to be in the best shape of his life by the end of the competition.  He wants to prove that if he can become a dancer,  anyone can become one. To prove it, he is thinking about taking his shirt off at the end of the dance like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever and most of the men on the TV version of Dancing with The Stars! (The more donations he receives, the more likely he will take his shirt off.)

When Mark is not dancing or working out, he is a Chicago-based professional lifestyle photographer  www.markbrownphotography.com and has sold his scenic travel work in galleries. For over 20 years he has captured memories for families and created artwork for their homes. He loves photographing children, families, and life moments. His style is spontaneous and journalistic — he is often praised for capturing personality and relationships of his subjects. Mark is most proud of his work photographing people with special needs and disabilities; highlights include his work in orphanages, clinics and hospitals in Africa. He travels to clients’ homes throughout the United States.

An avid volunteer for worthwhile causes, Mark is most active and passionate for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation where he has participated in numerous AIDS Walks in Africa. He is an active Board Member of Special Kids Photography of America, Best Buddies Illinois, & Stand Up for Kids Chicago.

Mark lives with his life partner Steve Thompson in the Old Town area of Chicago.
